The Wanowrie police have arrested a 20-year-old man for secretly recording a private video of a woman, sharing it on social media and extorting money and sexual favours from her. The incident, which came to light recently, has resulted in charges being filed under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

The case was handled promptly by the Wanowrie police. Using advanced technological methods, the police tracked the online activities of the accused, which led them to the accused. After collaborating with the Nashik police, the accused was arrested.

According to the police, the accused, who was facing financial crisis, secretly recorded the private moments of the victim and created a fake Instagram account to circulate the video. He then demanded ₹30,000 in exchange for deleting the footage and even demanded sexual favours from the victim.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers are working to gather additional evidence to ensure justice for the victim.
