World champions Australia suffered a crushing defeat in the first ODI between Australia and Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lanka was all out for 214 runs, but the Australian team, which came out to chase this small target, collapsed for 165 runs and Sri Lanka registered a spectacular victory by 49 runs.
Strong bowling by Sri Lanka, Australia collapsed
