'Won't allow Tamil culture to be attacked', Rahul Gandhi slams Modi government over delimitation
Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the Modi government over delimitation
At the "Chhatraon Ki Goonj" event in Chennai, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the central government over the delimitation proposal. He alleged that the delimitation proposal was targeting Tamil Nadu. He stated that he would not allow PM Modi to attack Tamil culture, language, and history. Citing the delimitation proposal and education policies, the Congress leader accused the central government of pursuing the politics of hatred and division.
He said, "Curiosity means asking questions, and democracy means your right to ask questions. The Constitution protects your right to ask questions, and voting ensures you get answers from those who lead you and run your governments."
Rahul Gandhi questioned the policies of the Centre
1. Language Imposition: Under the pretext of the National Education Policy (NEP), ₹3,300 crore in funding for Tamil Nadu schools has been withheld.
2. Centralization: After the implementation of the NEET exam, the share of Tamil-medium students in MBBS seats has declined by a massive 87%.
3. Forcible Imposition of RSS Ideology: 70% of Tamil Nadu's state universities do not have Vice-Chancellors (VCs) because the Governor is blocking their appointments.
4. Representation Issue: The new delimitation proposal is punishing Tamil Nadu, reducing its voice and representation in Parliament.
