Gautam Adani and his family have once again topped the list of India's richest people, according to the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026. According to this list, the Adani family's total wealth is approximately ₹9.23 lakh crore.

Last year, Mukesh Ambani and his family topped this list. This year, the Ambani family's wealth has declined to approximately ₹8.63 lakh crore. Meanwhile, the Adani family's wealth has increased by approximately 13% compared to last year.

According to this report, India now has 391 billionaires with assets exceeding $1 billion, or approximately Rs 8,000 crore. In the past year, 27 more names have been added to the list. Five years ago, there were 237 dollar billionaires in India. This means their number has increased significantly during this period.
How did wealth grow?
The report also highlights that not only traditional businesses but also sectors like artificial intelligence (AI), data centers, semiconductors, defense, and green energy are generating significant wealth. Nineteen individuals associated with AI have been included in this year's list, 15 of whom are making it to the list for the first time. Furthermore, sectors like defense, aerospace, and semiconductors have also seen a rapid increase in the number of newly wealthy businesses.
