WhatsApp Recent Media Suggestions
WhatsApp New Feature: To share a photo with friends on WhatsApp, send a screenshot, or forward a downloaded video, users often have to open their phone's gallery. Then, they have to find the right photo or video, select it, and then complete the sending process. But now, WhatsApp is preparing to make this a little easier.
The company is working on a feature that can show photos and videos from the phone's gallery during a chat. This will eliminate the need for users to repeatedly access the gallery and make it easier to share favorite media during a conversation. So let's find out what new features are coming to WhatsApp.
What new feature is coming in WhatsApp?
This new WhatsApp feature is called Recent Media Suggestions. According to reports, the company is rolling it out to some Android and iOS users. With this feature, recently added photos and videos to your phone's gallery will appear as suggestions directly in WhatsApp chats. If you've taken a new photo or downloaded a video, you won't need to open your gallery separately to send it.
Photo and video suggestions will appear in two ways in chat
WhatsApp is currently testing two different ways to display this feature. The first method will display a small notification just above the chat bar, containing a thumbnail of the latest media file in the gallery. The second method will temporarily replace the camera icon in the chat bar with a thumbnail of a photo or video. Users can ignore these suggestions and continue their conversation as usual.
Which files will WhatsApp suggest?
The Recent Media Suggestions feature won't be limited to just photos taken with the camera. It could also include photos taken with the phone's camera, screenshots, downloaded images, and videos saved from other apps.
You can edit the photo before sending it.
Tapping on a suggested photo or video will open WhatsApp's drawing editor. Here, users can review the media before sharing and add captions or stickers as needed. Showing a suggested photo or video will not automatically send it to the recipient. To share, the user will need to complete the following steps.
If you don't like it, turn it off like this
This feature can be activated automatically for users, however, if a user doesn't like seeing frequent media suggestions in their chat, they can turn it off. To do this, go to WhatsApp Settings, then Chats, and then Recent media suggestions. Disabling the toggle here will stop photo and video suggestions from appearing in chats.
