Sometimes forgetting where you put your keys, sometimes not remembering someone's name - if this is happening often, then it is not just fatigue, it could be a sign of your weak memory. Let's find out what could be the reason for this and how you can make your memory strong again.

Memory Loss Causes and Symptoms: Do you also forget things again and again? Like thinking after leaving the house, whether you have turned off the gas or not or repeatedly locking the door or not - then this can be a warning that your memory is getting weak. A little forgetfulness is common, but if it starts affecting daily tasks then it cannot be ignored. There can be many reasons for memory loss, such as lack of proper diet, lack of sleep, stress or excessive consumption of medicines and drugs.
Symptoms of poor memory include forgetting important things frequently, not being able to remember things immediately, lack of concentration and making mistakes in important tasks. It can affect children, adults, and the elderly. In children, it causes problems in studies, while for adults it can also affect jobs and relationships. Memory can also weaken with age because brain cells slow down over time. Apart from this, lack of sleep, stress, head injury, and diseases like thyroid or Alzheimer's can also cause it. Dr Daljeet Singh of the Department of Neurosurgery at Max Hospital in Delhi has explained these causes and symptoms of poor memory.
due to poor memory
If we talk about the reasons, the first thing that comes to mind is lack of nutrition. The brain needs some essential nutrients to function, which we get from a balanced diet. Eating fried, too sweet and too spicy food spoils the health of the brain.
1) Lack of concentration – When the mind is entangled in many things, the brain is not able to grasp anything properly. Repeated scattering of thoughts affects our memory.
2) Lack of proper nutrition – Food also gives strength to the brain. If there is a deficiency of nutrients like vitamin B12, omega-3 fatty acids, iron and zinc in the body, then memory starts weakening.
3) Lack of sleep – The brain needs rest. When sleep is not complete, the brain is not able to remember the things of the day properly, which increases the problem of forgetfulness. This increases the risk of chemical imbalance in the brain which affects memory.
4) Stress and anxiety – Constantly taking tension increases the burden on the brain. This makes the brain weak in remembering things or bringing back old memories.
5) Effect of age – As age increases, brain cells start functioning slowly which affects memory. This can be a normal effect of age.
6) Effect of medicines and drugs - Some medicines or intoxicants slow down the way the brain works. This has a bad effect on memory.
7) Head injury – A severe head injury can sometimes lead to memory loss. After an accident or injury, the brain may forget some things, especially recent events.
8) Some diseases – Alzheimer's, thyroid problems, brain tumor or neurological disorders can also affect memory.
Talking about treatment , first of all it is necessary to improve your lifestyle. A balanced diet which includes green vegetables, fruits, milk, almonds and vitamin B12 strengthens the brain. A little yoga, meditation and mental exercise like puzzles or learning new things every day is very beneficial. Get good sleep, stay away from mobile and gadgets and control stress. Most importantly, completely avoid addiction and drugs.
