Wedding Bells at 61: BJP Leader Dilip Ghosh Set to Marry Party Colleague Rinku Majumdar

In a surprising yet heartwarming turn of events, senior BJP leader and former Bengal party president Dilip Ghosh is all set to begin a new chapter in his personal life—at the age of 61. The former Lok Sabha MP and MLA will marry BJP worker Rinku Majumdar this Friday at his residence in New Town, Kolkata.

Rinku, an active member of the BJP from South Kolkata, first met Dilip during party-related work. Their bond gradually deepened over time, especially after Dilip’s defeat in the last Lok Sabha elections. According to those close to him, he was in a low phase emotionally, and it was Rinku who reached out with a heartfelt proposal. Expressing her desire to start a family with him, she said she felt alone and wanted companionship.

Initially hesitant, Dilip remained firm in his bachelorhood. However, with gentle encouragement from his mother and time to reflect, he decided to embrace the idea of marriage. “Even six months ago, I had never imagined this,” he reportedly said. “But I realized that this phase of life also needs to be fulfilled.”

The couple’s relationship became more public during the April 3 IPL match at Eden Gardens, where they were seen watching the game together from the clubhouse's Box No. 11—alongside Rinku's family, hinting at what many now call the “official confirmation.”

Wishes are pouring in from party workers and well-wishers, celebrating not just a political milestone but a personal one too.
