According to the report of Pew Research Center, India is included in the list of those countries where cases of religious conversion or leaving religion are very rare. 95 percent or more youth in the country have accepted that they still follow the same religion in which they were born and grew up. According to the Pew report, only 2 percent of the population in the country has converted to another religion or has left the religion of their childhood.

What percentage of people in Pakistan are leaving their religion? 

The Pew Research Center report does not mention what percentage of people in Pakistan are leaving their religion. However, news of conversion of Hindus and other non-Muslim people keeps coming in from Pakistan. According to the Pakistan census, there has been a decrease in the number of people following Islam in Pakistan as compared to the year 2017. According to the 2017 census, the Muslim population in Pakistan was around 96.47 percent, which decreased to 96.35 percent in the 2023 census.
