However, news of conversion of Hindus and other non-Muslim people keeps coming in from Pakistan. According to the Pakistan census, there has been a decrease in the number of people following Islam in Pakistan as compared to the year 2017. According to the 2017 census, the Muslim population in Pakistan was around 96.47 percent, which decreased to 96.35 percent in the 2023 census.
