Underarm odor: Do you often experience the smell of sweat in your armpits? This simple trick while showering will eliminate the odor problem

Excessive sweating is common during the summer. However, many people experience underarm odor. Even after showering daily and using perfume or deodorant, the smell of sweat returns within a few hours. Instead of just using products, making a few changes to your bathing routine can help control this problem to a large extent.

Why do underarms smell?

Sweat is produced by the sweat glands in our bodies. The armpits contain apocrine sweat glands. When sweat from these areas comes into contact with bacteria on the skin, it causes a bad odor. Furthermore, constant humidity, wearing too-tight clothing, hormonal changes, and poor body hygiene can also aggravate this problem.

What can be done to reduce the smell?

If you frequently experience underarm odor, you should use antibacterial or medicated body wash instead of regular soap when bathing. This type of body wash can help reduce the number of odor-causing bacteria on your skin. However, when choosing a body wash, make sure it's suitable for your skin type.

Which body wash might work?
A body wash containing benzoyl peroxide may be beneficial for this problem. After applying this body wash to your underarms, leave it on for about 2 to 4 minutes. Then rinse it off with clean water. This can help reduce the number of odor-causing bacteria and control the problem of sweat odor to some extent.
