Ukraine and France are considering providing nuclear weapons to Ukraine. Will Putin wreak havoc in Western countries?

Russia Ukraine War: According to Russian intelligence agencies, Germany refused to help Ukraine with nuclear weapons. Russia demanded an investigation by the IAEA.

Russia claims Ukraine and France are preparing to supply nuclear weapons to Ukraine.

Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, the Kremlin has claimed that Britain and France are preparing to supply Kyiv with nuclear bombs. Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) made this claim on Tuesday (February 24, 2026), raising the possibility of further escalation of tensions between Moscow and Western countries. Russia invaded Ukraine on this day in 2022, and the two countries have been at war ever since. European countries like Britain and France are funding Ukraine against Russia, along with providing weapons.

Russia accuses the UK and France

"The UK and France believe that Ukraine... " the SVR said, according to a report by Russian news agency TASS. It is impossible to defeat Russia through conventional means. Western countries are considering providing Ukraine with super weapons (nuclear bombs) to strengthen its position in this war." The SVR claimed that the use of France's TN75 small-bodied warhead, deployed on the M51 submarine-launched ballistic missile, is being considered.

Russia asks IAEA for investigation.

According to Russian intelligence agencies, Germany has refused to help Ukraine with the supply of nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Russia's Federation Council has called on the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to investigate Britain and France's intention to supply nuclear weapons to Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during his visit to Kazakhstan in November 2024 that Moscow would not allow Ukraine to acquire nuclear weapons and would use all available means to prevent it.

Putin has already threatened.

Putin stated, “If Ukraine attempts to become a nuclear power, we will use our weapons of destruction.” He also warned countries providing Ukraine with nuclear weapons, saying, “We will monitor what is happening there and will not tolerate it.” In June 2022, European Parliament member Radoslaw Sikorski stated that Western countries have the right to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons to protect its independence.
