The most religious place in Madhya Pradesh is Ujjain, which is called the city of Mahakal. Lord Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is established in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain is mentioned in the Puranas and ancient religious texts as 'Ujjayini' and 'Avantikapuri'. Mangaleshwar, the birthplace of Mars, is also located here. Its name is derived from ‘Omkar’ which is the name of Lord Shiva. Along with Lord Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Amaleshwar Jyotirlinga is also established in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Both these Shivlingas have been counted in the same Jyotirlinga. Omkareshwar pilgrimage is supernatural, the person who reaches this pilgrimage and does food donation, penance, worship etc., or sacrifices his life i.e. dies, gets a place at the feet of Shiva. Amarkantak

Amarkantak is a part of Riksha Parvat, which is one of the Saptakula mountains mentioned in the Puranas. Sanchi
Sanchi, one of the Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Madhya Pradesh, is famous for the oldest stone structures in India. The Buddhist monument at Sanchi is a symbol of the vast heritage of culturally rich India. The Great Stupa located here was established by the Maurya Dynasty emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. The stupas of Sanchi were built to house Lord Buddha and many important Buddhist relics. Mother of Dewas
The historical ancient temples of Chamunda Mata and Tulja Bhavani Mata are established on a hill in Dewas city of Madhya Pradesh. Devotees from far and wide come here for darshan. The mother known as Dewas Wali Mata is known here in two forms, younger mother and elder mother Tulja Bhavani and Chamunda Mata. The elder mother is called Tulja Bhavani and the younger mother is called Chamunda Mata.
Bhojpur
Bhojpur is situated on the banks of the Betwa River in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. Shivalinga was established here by Parmar king Bhoj by building the Bhojpur temple. This temple is also called Somnatha Temple of North India. The huge Shivalinga installed here is the largest Shivalinga in the world, whose length is 5.5 meters (18 feet) and diameter is 2.3 meters (7.5 feet). A Jain temple is also located here, in which the statue of Lord Parshvanarth Suparshvanath is installed. There is Parvati cave and the Samadhi place of Acharya Matunga in the premises of this temple.
Pitambara Peeth
Maa Pitambara Siddha Shaktipeeth is established in Datia city of Madhya Pradesh. The goddess present here changes her form thrice a day. The wishes of the devotees who come here are fulfilled just by seeing the mother. In the court of Pitambara, the goddess who destroys enemies, a crowd of people seeking royal power can always be seen. Many devotees secretly perform special pujas and yagya here to fulfill their wishes. To date, the prayers of the devotees coming here have not gone unfruitful.
