Chakrata is a famous hill station situated in the lap of nature. It is famous as the king of the mountains. Lakhmandal located on Mussoorie-Yamunotri Road has historical and mythological significance. Lakhmandal is 3-4 km from a place called Bernigad on the banks of the Yamuna River at the northern end of the Yamuna River. Lakhmandal is situated at an altitude of 1372 meters above sea level, 60 km from Lakhmandal Chakrata, and 75 from Mussoorie at a distance of 128 km from Dehradun. Lakh Mandal is particularly considered to be related to the Mahabharata period. The remains of millions of idols have been found in the excavation done by the Archaeological Department here, this is also a reason that it was named Lakhmandal. The Kauravas are believed to have built a Lakshagriha to burn the birds, and where they had conspired to burn alive with Mata Kunti. That cave is still present in the Lakhmandal, through which the Pandavas Came out safely, and after that, the Pandavas lived in Chakranagari for a month, which is today known as Chakrata. Hyau top
Hyau Top or Hayau Danda is located at a distance of 18 km from Chakrata. You can be reached by road to Hayau village 14 km from Chakrata to go to the top and then by 2 km track. The huge view of the huge series of the Himalayas is visible from the Hyou Top. Budher Top
