Tata Capital IPO: The launch of Tata Capital's IPO has been long-awaited. Now, investors only need to wait a week for the IPO to be launched. The IPO is estimated to be worth ₹17,200 crore.

Tata Capital IPO: Investors have been waiting for the long-awaited IPO of the Tata Group company, Tata Capital, which is now about to end. The IPO will open for retail investors on October 6th. Anchor investors will be able to bid starting October 3rd. The company submitted its updated red herring prospectus (UDRHP) to market regulator SEBI and the stock exchanges on Friday.

According to the plan, the IPO will consist of a fresh issue of 210,000,000 equity shares with a face value of ₹10 per share. Additionally, 265,824,280 shares will be sold through an Offer for Sale (OFS). This will result in a total transaction of 475.8 million shares. Under the OFS window, promoter Tata Sons Private Limited will sell its stake worth ₹230 million. Additionally, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) may also sell 35.8 million shares. Tata Sons currently holds 88.6% stake in Tata Capital, while IFC holds 1.8%.

Tata Capital IPO GMP

Since the company has not yet disclosed its price band, its gray market premium (GMP) is currently unavailable. Only after the price band is revealed will its GMP trend be known. However, according to Unlisted Zone and Shareskart.com, the company's unlisted shares are under pressure ahead of the IPO. Currently, the shares are trading at around ₹735, compared to ₹1,125 in August. This represents a 35% decline.  

What does the company do?

Founded in 2007, the company today has a portfolio of over 25 lending products, serving over 7 million customers. It provides loans to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), corporate entities, and individuals. It also provides insurance and credit cards. In addition to lending, it also acts as an investment manager and sponsor for wealth management and private equity funds. Tata Capital projects a profit of ₹3,655 crore in fiscal year 2025, up from ₹3,327 crore in the previous year. In 2025, the company's revenue increased to ₹28,313 crore from ₹18,175 crore in 2024.
