National Desk: The alarm bell has rung for the customers of Punjab National Bank. If you have an account in Punjab National Bank (PNB) then this news is very important for you. The bank has informed its customers to update their KYC (Know Your Customer) on time. Customers whose KYC process was to be completed by March 31, 2025, will now have to complete this process by April 10, 2025. If this is not done, bank accounts may become inactive and there may be problems in transactions. KYC i.e. 'Know Your Customer' is a mandatory process through which the bank verifies the identity of its customers. This process is done to prevent banking fraud, money laundering and other criminal activities. As per the rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all banks are required to get KYC updated from their customers from time to time.
Which customers have to update KYC?
PNB has instructed those customers to update their KYC whose KYC deadline is expiring on 31 March 2025. Such customers should check the SMS, email or other official notice received from the bank. If you have received any such message, complete your KYC process as soon as possible.
Ways to update KYC
PNB has provided several options to update KYC for the convenience of its customers:

- Through Post or Email – Customers can send the required documents through their registered email ID or through post to the base branch of the bank.
What if KYC is not updated?
PNB has made it clear that if a customer does not update KYC by April 10, 2025, then banking services related to his account may be stopped. The following services may be affected:
- Will not be able to transact from bank account.
- Online banking services may be disrupted.
- There may be problems in using credit cards and debit cards.

PNB warned to avoid fraud
PNB has advised its customers to be cautious and not to click on any suspicious link, email or message. Do not share your banking information with any unknown person in the name of KYC update. The bank also said that if anyone receives a suspicious call or message, report it immediately.
Last date for KYC update
Earlier the last date for KYC update was 31 December 2024, which was extended to 26 March 2025. Now PNB has set the last date for updating KYC as 10 April 2025. If the KYC process is not completed by this date, there may be difficulty in operating the account.
