IND vs SL 2026 Test

India Tour of Sri Lanka Schedule: The Indian team will tour Sri Lanka for a Test series next month, in August. The BCCI announced the schedule for the series on Thursday (July 2). This will be India's first Test against Sri Lanka since 2022. It will also be the first red-ball match on the Sri Lanka tour since 2017.

The series will feature two Tests, the dates and schedule for which have been released. The first match will be played in Galle from August 15th to 19th. The second and final Test will be held in Colombo from August 23rd to 27th. Both Tests will begin at 10:00 AM IST.

Ahead of the senior Indian team's tour, the 'A' team is already in Sri Lanka for two first-class matches. The first match ended in a draw. The second match is being played in Galle.

It's worth noting that earlier this year, Sri Lanka Cricket requested the addition of three T20 matches to the tour, along with the Test series. According to reports, this request was initially accepted as a good move to help Sri Lanka raise funds for those affected by Cyclone Detwah. However, considering India's international calendar, the BCCI did not include the T20 series.

India vs Sri Lanka Test series schedule

1st Test: August 15-19, Galle International Cricket Stadium, Galle

Second Test: August 23-27, Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground, Colombo

Team India's last test

Team India's last Test match was against Afghanistan. The only Test between India and Afghanistan was played in New Chandigarh. In the match, Shubman Gill led Team India to an innings and 300-run victory. This match was not part of the World Test Championship points table, so despite the victory, India did not gain any significant advantage.
