Sunil Gavaskar came forward to help Vinod Kambli, will get financial assistance every month

Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli is struggling with financial crisis and poor health these days. Due to lack of money, he was not able to get his treatment done properly. In such times, great batsman Sunil Gavaskar has extended a helping hand to him.

According to the Times of India report, Kambli will now be given Rs 30,000 every month by Gavaskar's 'Champs Foundation', which will continue to be given throughout his life. Along with this, Rs 30,000 will also be given separately every month for treatment. This foundation was started in the year 1999, whose aim is to help needy former international cricketers.

In December last year, Kambli's health deteriorated a lot and he had to be admitted to the hospital. At that time also some cricketers helped him. According to reports, the reason for Kambli's deteriorating health has been his addiction to alcohol. After being discharged from the hospital, he also advised people to stay away from drugs.

Kambli was once considered a very close friend of Sachin Tendulkar. But due to bad habits and bad decisions, his life was filled with difficulties. Some time ago, a video of him went viral on social media, in which he was taking support even to walk. This video had worried everyone.

If we talk about his cricket career, Kambli has played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India. In Tests, he scored 1084 runs at an average of 54.20, which includes 4 centuries and 3 half-centuries. At the same time, he scored 2477 runs in ODIs, which include 2 centuries and 14 half-centuries.
