Strict action against fake cancer medicines in Delhi, samples sent for testing

Acting on the complaint of fake medicines, the Delhi Health Department conducted a raid. Samples were taken from there and sent for testing. Delhi's Health Minister says that action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report and if anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken against him.

Police and health department took big action on the complaint of fake medicines in Delhi. Delhi health department and police teams raided several places simultaneously. During this, samples of medicines were taken and sent to the lab for testing. Police has also detained some people. Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh says that action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report. He said that if any irregularities are found, strict action will be taken against the accused.
The team of Delhi Police's Crime Branch and Health Department raided many areas including Mandavali, Laxmi Nagar, Budh Vihar, Chandni Chowk. From where a huge amount of fake medicines and injections were recovered. These medicines had neither proper packaging nor barcode. According to the officials, these medicines were sold to the patients by claiming them to be genuine.
These people used to sell fake medicines to poor patients for Rs 50 to 70 thousand instead of medicines worth Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. Health experts say that taking fake medicines for a long time can also put the lives of patients in danger. They say that at present the health department and the government are taking necessary action.
Delhi's Health Minister Pankaj Singh said that the officials took samples from about 160 places. The test report of which will come in three-four days. The Health Minister said that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty of fraud as per the law. Also, the Health Minister told the cancer patients and their families coming to Delhi hospitals for treatment that they should buy medicines from the right place, do not buy fake medicines in the pursuit of cheap medicines. The Health Minister also appealed to all the people to inform the officials as soon as they get information about fake medicines.
Regarding the dissolution of Delhi Medical Council (DMC) , Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh said that all its powers have been given to Directorate of Health Services (DHC). After which DHC will now play the role of registrar and will look after other works including registration of new doctors. The Health Minister claimed that this will provide better health services to the patients. On the complaints of corruption in DMC, the Health Minister said that irregularities will be investigated and necessary reforms will be made.

- Always buy medicines for cancer or any serious disease from authorized and trusted medical store or hospital.
- Be sure to check the medicine packaging, barcode, expiry date and information about the concerned company.
- If you find any suspicious medicine or injection, immediately inform the health department or police.
- In the greed of getting cheap medicines, never buy medicines from unknown people or unlicensed shopkeepers.
