NSE Holidays 2025: The festive season is underway, and Diwali will be celebrated across the country next week. Holidays have been announced for this purpose. Stock markets will also be closed on this day. Trading will be suspended on both of the country's major stock exchanges, the BSE and NSE.

 

However, Muhurat trading will definitely take place, and the timings for it have been set. The stock markets will be closed for four days in the coming week. Full details regarding the stock market holidays are provided below.

When is the stock market closed?

The Indian stock market will be closed on Tuesday, October 21st, due to Diwali and Lakshmi Puja. There will also be no trading on Wednesday, October 22nd, for Diwali Balipratipada. Trading will also be closed on Saturday, October 25th, and Sunday, October 26th, due to weekly holidays. This means the stock market will be open for only three days throughout the week. Additionally, the Multi Commodity Exchange will be closed on October 21st and 22nd due to Diwali. 

When will Muhurat trading take place?

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the date for Muhurat Trading on NSE and BSE has been set for October 21, 2025. Investors can engage in Muhurat Trading from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM on October 21. The pre-open session is scheduled from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM. Muhurat Trading is considered auspicious for investors.

When else will the stock markets remain closed this year?

After next week's Diwali holiday, this year the stock market will remain closed on November 5 for Guru Nanak Jayanti and on December 25 for Christmas.
