Sri Lanka made a 2-0 clean sweep (win all matches) in the two-match Test series with an inning and 10-run victory by bowling out Ireland's second innings for 202 on Friday, the fifth day of the second Test.
During this, Prabhat Jayasuriya (2/88) set a world record for completing 50 wickets in seven Test matches. He became the spinner to touch this figure in the lowest Test match. Earlier this record was in the name of former West Indies spinner Alf Valentine. Valentine, who debuted in 1950, achieved the feat against Australia in 1951/52. It was his eighth Test match. At the same time, Prabhat has broken this record after 71 years.
Ramesh Mendis hit five for the fourth time in the innings as Ireland was bowled out for 202 after starting the day at 54 for two. Sri Lanka had scored 704 for three in their first innings in reply to Ireland's 492. This was Sri Lanka's 100th win in Test cricket while it was the sixth loss in six matches for Ireland, who made their Test debut in 2018.

Harry Tector (85) and captain Andy Balbirnie (46) batted steadily in the opening overs of the day. Balbirnie Maa left the field after being hit on the helmet by a bouncer during the first hour of play. He returned to the crease after the dismissal of Kurtis Campher but soon fell to Mendis. Paul Stirling (one), who scored a century in the first innings, did not bat in the second innings and became Jayasuriya's 50th victim in Tests.
