One such herder, Makhna Nishad, noticed that one of his cows mysteriously released milk at a specific hillock covered in thick shrubs every day.

Curious about this phenomenon, the villagers decided to dig at the site, uncovering a mystical and divine Shiva Linga beneath the ground. Following this discovery, Chandpur’s merchant Mathura Prasad took the initiative to construct the temple, and over time, a complex of temples was established around it.
