How To Turn Off YouTube Shorts: If you want to turn off shorts, change this setting

How To Turn Off YouTube Shorts: If you are troubled by your or your children's habit of watching shorts, then there is a way to get rid of it. If you want to avoid wasting time on YouTube shorts , then you can also remove it from YouTube. The company had rolled out a setting a few days ago, through which shorts will be turned off on YouTube forever. This feature is very useful for those parents whose children have become addicted to watching shorts. Today we are going to tell you with the help of which setting shorts can be removed from YouTube.

You can limit viewing of Shorts to zero.

As soon as you open YouTube, shorts are visible along with other videos. If you tap on shorts once, then the next 5-10 minutes are sure to be wasted. There is a button of Show fewer Shorts on the YouTube app, but it works only for 30 days. In such a situation, shorts are sure to appear on your feed again and again. In October last year, the company had added the option of time limit, in which a minimum time of 15 minutes could be set. Now the company has changed this setting and has given the option of setting the time limit to zero. That means shorts will not play after setting the time limit to zero.

How to set the time limit to zero?

  • Open YouTube and tap on the profile icon.
  • Now go to the Time Management dashboard by tapping on the gear icon.
  • Here you will see the toggle of short feed limit in daily limit.
  • After tapping on it, you'll see a time limit option. Set it to zero minutes.
  • After this, close the app completely and reopen it.

It's worth noting that this feature is currently available for the YouTube mobile app. It hasn't been rolled out to the desktop and TV apps yet, and the company's plans for this are not yet known.

The strong version came to parents.

This feature also allows parents to set a zero time limit for Shorts on their children's teen accounts. This timer won't be able to be changed from teen accounts managed through Google Family Link or YouTube Family Center. This means parents will have more control, and children won't be able to change this setting from their own accounts.
