The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened the online application process for the position of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales), commonly known as the SBI Clerk position. Candidates interested in pursuing a career in the banking sector can apply online through the official SBI recruitment portal. 

A total of 9,124 Junior Associate positions will be filled through this recruitment drive. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online until August 31, 2026.

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the post of Junior Associate must have a graduation degree from a recognized institute or university in India.

Those who are currently in the final year of their graduation program may also be eligible to apply subject to the conditions mentioned in the recruitment notification.

The age of the candidate will be calculated as on April 1, 2026. The age of the applicant should be between 20 to 28 years.

Reserved category candidates will be given upper age relaxation as per government rules. OBC candidates will be given 3 years, SC/ST candidates will be given 5 years, and PwBD candidates will be given 10 years.

SBI Clerk Selection Process

The selection process for Junior Associates will be in three stages – Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Local Language Proficiency Test.

The preliminary exam will consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks. Questions will be asked from English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The exam will last one hour. Candidates should also note that one-quarter of a mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates who qualify the preliminary exam will advance to the main exam. The main exam will carry 200 marks. Those who clear the required criteria in the main exam will then be called for a local language proficiency test.

SBI Clerk Salary

Candidates selected for the Junior Associate post will get a salary of approximately ₹24,050 to ₹64,480 per month as per SBI rules along with other applicable benefits and allowances.

The application fee varies depending on the category of the candidate:

SC, ST and PwBD candidates: No fee
General, OBC and EWS candidates: ₹750
