Rohit Sharma breaks his silence on being called the King of Mumbai.. It was madness to even think about it

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has reacted for the first time on being called 'Mumbai ka Raja'. He said that he never thought that people would love him like this and it is a big deal for him. In his childhood, when he was just trying to make a place in the Ranji team, it seemed madness to even think about it.

Indian team captain and legendary batsman Rohit Sharma has achieved many great achievements in his career. Captaining in all three formats of cricket and consistently performing brilliantly is an example of his struggle and hard work.

Rohit Sharma recently shared his feelings on being called 'Mumbai ka Raja' in a conversation with senior journalist Vimal Kumar. He said, "People's love means a lot. I cannot take it lightly. I never thought that something like this would happen. At the age of 16, I was thinking of making a place in the Ranji team, at that time all this was a distant thing, then even thinking about all this would have been like madness." Getting recognition like 'Mumbai Ka Raja' is also special because many great cricketers have already emerged from Mumbai. In such a situation, Rohit getting such a status reflects the success of his career. Currently, Rohit Sharma is playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. Initially, he did not look in rhythm in some matches, but after that he made a strong comeback by scoring two consecutive half-centuries against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the last match against Lucknow, he could score only 12 runs, but better performance will be expected in the coming matches. Talking about Mumbai's next match, they are against Rajasthan on 1 April. Mumbai will have a full chance to top the points table by winning this match.
