Extreme temperatures across the state:
Temperatures are being recorded above 45 degrees Celsius in many districts of Rajasthan. Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest temperature of 48.0 degrees Celsius, while Mount Abu remained the coldest with 18.8 degrees Celsius. Notable maximum temperatures on Wednesday included:
Ajmer: 42.8°C
Alwar: 44.8°
Jaipur: 44.4°C
Kota: 45.1°C
Chittorgarh: 45.7°C
Bikaner: 45.1°
Churu: 45.8°C
Minimum temperatures remain high:
Night temperatures also remained high, bringing some respite from the heat. For instance, Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 32.2°C, while Sriganganagar recorded a minimum temperature of 34.6°C.
Weather forecast and warnings:
The Jaipur Meteorological Department has warned that intense heat will continue for the next 3-4 days, especially in western Rajasthan, where dry weather will prevail and heatwaves will continue day and night. Temperatures may touch 48°C in Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts in the coming days. Light rain and thunderstorms are expected in Kota and Bharatpur divisions around June 15-16.
