Let us tell you that all these Nagar Palikas were formed in the Tribal Sub Plan area during the previous Congress government. The formation was challenged in the High Court.

Autonomous Governance Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra had recently raised this issue in the Assembly during the budget session. He had given information about the process of cancelling their formation. The names of the cancelled municipalities are Rishabhdev (Udaipur), Ghatol (Banswara), Ponk (Jhunjhunu), Raipur (Bhilwara), Jawal (Sirohi), Rani (Alwar), Khirni (Sawaimadhopur), Lalgarh Jatan (Sriganganagar), Ramdevra (Jaisalmer), Raniwara (Jalore), Semari (Salumbhar), Chavand (Sarara).

Not only this, the Department of Autonomous Governance has issued a notification to increase the scope of both the municipal corporation boundary areas of Jaipur. The government is planning to merge Greater and Heritage Municipal Corporations into one, for which a blueprint has also been prepared. As per the year 2011, a population of 1.29 lakh has been included in the Greater Municipal boundary area and about 25 thousand in Heritage.
