Due to which they have to book Tatkal tickets. But do you know? Indian Railways has changed the rules for Tatkal ticket booking. Now Aadhaar verification has become mandatory for Tatkal booking. How will Tatkal tickets be booked now?

Aadhaar OTP required for Tatkal ticket booking

Indian Railways has now changed the rules for Tatkal ticket booking. Now you will be able to book Tatkal tickets from IRCTC website or mobile app. To book tickets, your Aadhaar card must be linked to your IRCTC account. This new rule has come into effect from today i.e. 15th July.

Now when you book Tatkal tickets, an OTP will come on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. Only after entering it, you will be able to make a booking. Without that OTP, instant booking will not be possible.

How to link Aadhaar to IRCTC account

If you have not yet linked your Aadhaar to your IRCTC account, then do it immediately, its process is very easy. First of all you have to log in to the website www.irctc.co.in. You can also log in to the app. After this you have to go to the My Account section. After this you have to choose the Link Your Aadhaar option.

Here you have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. After this you have to click on Generate OTP. After this an OTP will come on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. After entering that OTP, the verification process will be completed. Your IRCTC account will be linked to Aadhaar. If you book a ticket from the railway counter, then you have to give your Aadhaar number and complete the OTP verification.
