RailOne Super App Launched: Indian Railways Brings Tickets, Tracking and Complaints Under One Platform

In a major digital push aimed at transforming passenger convenience, Indian Railways has introduced a new all-in-one mobile application called RailOne. Designed as a comprehensive travel companion, the app integrates multiple railway services into a single digital platform, eliminating the need for passengers to switch between different applications.

The launch marks a significant step toward building a unified and seamless railway ecosystem, aligning with the broader Digital India vision.

What Is RailOne and Why It Matters

Until now, railway passengers had to rely on separate apps for different services — ticket bookings, unreserved tickets, live train status, and complaint registration. RailOne consolidates these services into one streamlined interface.

Earlier, travelers commonly used:

  • IRCTC for reserved ticket bookings
  • UTS on Mobile for unreserved tickets
  • Rail Madad for lodging complaints

With RailOne, all these functionalities are now accessible within a single application, reducing device storage usage and improving user experience.

Key Features of the RailOne Super App

1. Single Sign-On (SSO) Convenience

One of RailOne’s standout features is its Single Sign-On (SSO) system. Users who already have login credentials for IRCTC or UTS can use the same details to access the new app.

Additionally, biometric authentication such as fingerprint or face recognition enhances security while ensuring faster login access.

2. Book All Types of Tickets in One Place

RailOne allows passengers to book:

  • Reserved tickets (AC, Sleeper, and other classes)
  • Unreserved/general tickets
  • Platform tickets

To encourage digital transactions, Indian Railways has occasionally offered incentives, including small discounts on unreserved tickets booked through digital modes.

This unified booking system simplifies trip planning and reduces dependency on multiple apps.

3. Real-Time Train Tracking

Passengers can check live train status directly within the app. Features include:

  • Real-time train location
  • Delay updates
  • Coach position details
  • Platform number information

This eliminates the need for third-party tracking applications and ensures that travelers receive accurate updates directly from official railway systems.

4. E-Catering and On-Seat Services

Hungry during your journey? RailOne integrates e-catering services, enabling passengers to order meals that are delivered directly to their seats at selected stations.

The app is also gradually integrating additional services in select cities, including porter booking and taxi services, making last-mile connectivity more convenient.

5. Instant Complaint Registration

Through the built-in Rail Madad feature, passengers can report issues related to:

  • Coach cleanliness
  • Water supply
  • Safety concerns
  • Service deficiencies

Users can track the status of their complaints in real time, promoting transparency and accountability.

Developed by CRIS

RailOne has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the technology arm responsible for managing railway information systems.

The objective is to modernize older, fragmented systems and create a unified digital infrastructure for railway passengers. Reports indicate that from March 1, 2026, several legacy services are expected to be fully migrated into the new super app, offering a consolidated digital experience.

A Step Toward a Smarter Railway Ecosystem

The introduction of RailOne signals Indian Railways’ intent to simplify passenger interaction through technology. By merging ticketing, tracking, complaint handling, and value-added services into one platform, the railway network aims to deliver greater convenience, efficiency, and transparency.

For millions of daily commuters and long-distance travelers, RailOne could significantly reduce complexity and enhance travel planning. As digital adoption grows, such integrated platforms are likely to shape the future of public transport services across the country.
