PM Kisan 22nd Installment Update: Farmers May Receive ₹2,000 Around March 13; Check Eligibility and Payment Status

Millions of farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. The government is currently completing the final phase of beneficiary verification and database updates. Once this process is completed, the next installment of ₹2,000 will be transferred directly to eligible farmers’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

The PM-Kisan scheme has become one of the most important financial support programmes for farmers in India. Every installment brings relief to millions of farming families who depend on agriculture for their livelihood.

When Will the PM Kisan 22nd Installment Be Released?

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, financial assistance is distributed in three installments each year. The payments are usually made during the following periods:

  • April to July
  • August to November
  • December to March

The 21st installment of the scheme was released on November 19, 2025, benefiting crores of farmers across the country.

Based on the payment schedule, the 22nd installment is expected to be released in March 2026, possibly during the first or second week of the month. According to several media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may transfer the funds to farmers’ accounts around March 13, 2026, during a special government event.

However, farmers should note that the official confirmation regarding the exact release date is still awaited.

Why Has the Installment Been Delayed This Time?

Many farmers have been wondering why the next installment has not yet been credited to their accounts. According to government sources, the delay is mainly due to an ongoing verification drive aimed at ensuring that only eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits.

The government is currently reviewing the beneficiary database and removing ineligible names. This includes individuals who:

  • Pay income tax
  • Are government employees
  • Have incorrect or incomplete land records
  • Have not completed mandatory verification processes

During the release of the 21st installment, nearly 70 lakh ineligible beneficiaries were removed from the list. The verification process is being continued to maintain transparency and ensure that the scheme benefits genuine farmers.

Complete These 3 Important Tasks to Avoid Payment Delay

Farmers who want to receive the ₹2,000 installment without interruption must ensure that certain requirements are completed. Failure to do so may result in the installment being withheld.

1. Complete e-KYC

The e-KYC process is now mandatory for all PM-Kisan beneficiaries. Farmers can complete it through several methods:

  • OTP-based verification on the PM-Kisan portal
  • Face authentication via the mobile app
  • Biometric verification at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)

Without e-KYC, the installment will not be processed.

2. Ensure Land Seeding is Updated

The government requires farmers to link their land ownership records with the PM-Kisan database.

Farmers should check that the “Land Seeding” status shows “Yes” on the portal. If it shows “No”, they must contact their local revenue office, tehsil office, or patwari to update their land records.

3. Link Aadhaar With Bank Account

Another critical requirement is Aadhaar-bank linking. The bank account registered under the scheme must be linked with the farmer’s Aadhaar number and enabled for DBT payments.

Even small errors in the name, account details, or Aadhaar linking can prevent the installment from being credited.

How to Check PM Kisan Installment Status Online

Farmers can easily check whether they will receive the upcoming installment by visiting the official PM-Kisan portal.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in
  2. Click on the “Know Your Status” option on the homepage
  3. Enter your registration number and captcha code
  4. Submit the details to view your payment status

If the portal shows “Yes” for the following three fields, the farmer is likely to receive the installment:

  • e-KYC status
  • Land seeding verification
  • Aadhaar bank seeding

When all these requirements are successfully verified, the payment will be transferred to the farmer’s bank account through DBT.
