Citing defence officials, ANI said, "Indian Navy officer, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal has lost his life in a terrorist attack. He was posted in Kochi. He was 26 years old. He was a resident of Haryana and got married on 16 April." According to the Times of India report, after marriage, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal and his wife had first planned to travel to Europe, but could not go due to not getting a visa. After this, they decided to travel to Jammu and Kashmir for their honeymoon.
Vinay Narwal's family in grief and shock
According to media reports, 26-year-old Vinay Narwal joined the Indian Navy two years ago. After the wedding ceremony on April 16, he went to Kashmir on April 21 to celebrate his honeymoon with his wife. Currently, he was posted in Kochi. After the incident, some people reached Vinay Narwal's house at midnight, but the family did not talk to anyone. In this moment of grief and shock, the family is completely devastated and they have kept themselves away from people.
Video of Narwal's wife surfaced
According to the Times of India report, a video of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal's wife has surfaced. In this, she says in an emotional voice, "We were just eating Bhelpuri... and then he shot my husband. The gunman said that my husband is not a Muslim and then shot him." This statement highlights the barbarity of this terrorist attack and the mentality of hatred, which took away the happiness of a newly married couple.
26 people died in the firing
On the afternoon of 22 April, 26 people were killed in indiscriminate firing by terrorists in a famous grassland near the town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Among those killed were two foreign nationals—one from the United Arab Emirates and one from Nepal. The attack was brutal and horrific and has sent terror throughout the region.
