Now not huts, but concrete houses! Big announcement of PM Awas Yojana in Rajasthan

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rajasthan: A big gift is going to be given to the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Rajasthan. Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that 2.77 lakh new houses will be sanctioned to the state in April. This scheme has come as a ray of hope for those families who were dreaming of their own concrete house for years.

20 lakh houses have been built in Rajasthan so far

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a target of 24 lakh houses was set in Rajasthan, out of which 20 lakh houses have been completed so far. The process of construction of the remaining houses has been expedited. According to the central government, surveys are also going on to identify new beneficiaries.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the 'Garibi Mukt Gaon' initiative of the Rajasthan government and said that it is an important step towards rural development. Under this scheme, 5,000 villages have been selected, where families living below the poverty line (BPL) will be economically empowered through various schemes of the government.

An amount of Rs 126 crore has been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for better connectivity in rural areas. This will lead to the construction of new roads in remote villages and repair of old roads.

Women benefit from 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme

The 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme is progressing rapidly in Rajasthan. So far, more than 4 lakh women have taken advantage of this scheme and have become self-reliant. The government aims to make 25 lakh women financially strong through this scheme.
