The gang members threatened to tell the victim's family and relatives about his homosexuality. The victim was forced to transfer Rs 80,000 from his account via Google Pay in the first time and Rs 20,000 in the second time to the bank account of the accused. After this, the accused fled from the spot leaving him alone.

Noida: Noida Police has busted a gang involved in cheating and looting through gay apps. The members of this gang used to gain the trust of gay boys by talking to them on gay dating apps. After this, they used to call them to meet at a secluded place and then rob them. But the matter does not end here. This gang used to blackmail the homosexuals and transfer money from their accounts online to their accounts and also threatened them to make their identity public. In this case, the police has arrested two accused who trapped people through gay apps andthreatening them . Illegal weapons and seven thousand rupees of stolen money have also been recovered from their possession.

Blackmailed and got money transferred to the account

The police came to know about this new racket when on September 21 , a victim lodged a complaint in Noida's Dadri police station that the accused Vijay alias Vijji and Kuldeep forcibly snatched seven thousand rupees from the victim. Apart from this, by blackmailing the complainant, they transferred another one lakh rupees from his account through Google Pay. The police registered a case in this matter under section 303 (2) of BNS . Taking further action in this case, on September 22 , the police arrested two accused from near a closed CNG pump on Dadri - Secunderabad Road. The police recovered seven thousand rupees in cash along with an illegal pistol , live cartridges from the possession of the accused .

Homosexuals were trapped by creating fake IDs

During interrogation, the accused told that the members of their gang used to trap people by creating different IDs on Grindr gay dating app. They would first gain their trust and then call them to meet . After this, they would take them to some deserted place and threaten them and snatch their cash and belongings. They would also get the money deposited in their bank account transferred to themselves online.

Names of three accused revealed

The arrested accused Vijay and Kuldeep told that there is a third person named Arvind with them. They told that the three together made a plan to trap a gay boy with an ID named Bad Boy on Grindr gay app. They first contacted him with an ID named Rahul and then called him to meet and to pick him up, accused Vijay alias Vijji went to Chithaira canal culvert on a bike. From here he took him towards Shahpur on the canal road where as per the plan, Kuldeep and Arvind were already waiting for them.

Threatened to tell family about being gay

After this, as per the plan , Arvind and Kuldeep snatched the 7000 rupees that was in his pocket. Then they threatened the victim and asked him to transfer the money present in his account to them. If he did not do so, they threatened to tell his family and relatives about the victim being homosexual. The victim was helpless and transferred first 80 thousand and then 20 thousand rupees through Google Pay from his account to the bank account of the accused. After this the accused left him alone and fled from the spot. When caught, accused Vijay and Kuldeep said that the seven thousand rupees recovered from them was left over from that incident. They spent the rest of the money.
