Which is the world's most dangerous and advanced fighter jet? France's Rafale, America's F-35 or Russia's Sukhoi-57? All three are very advanced and multirole fighter jets, but a fighter jet even more dangerous than these is the F-22 Raptor. It was developed by America's defense company, Lockheed Martin, in the year 1990. How dangerous it was can be gauged from the fact that America did not sell this fighter jet even to its closest countries. The F-22 Raptor is only with the US Air Force. 

America's 5th generation fighter jet F-22 Raptor was designed not just to win the war but also to attack the enemy before it appears on the radar. This is why it is also called the Air Superiority Fighter Jet.

What is special about the F-22 Raptor? 

The F-22's AN/APG-77 AESA radar can track multiple enemy aircraft simultaneously and is capable of attacking from long distances. It is equipped with dangerous missiles like AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9 Sidewinder. Not only this, it also has the capability of air-to-ground attack, which allows it to carry out multi-role missions. Its maximum speed is Mach 2.25 (about 2,414 km/h), which makes it one of the fastest fighter jets in the world.

F-22 vs F-35 which is more powerful?

Although both F-22 and F-35 are made by Lockheed Martin, their purpose is different. F-22 is primarily made for air-to-air combat i.e. air dominance. Whereas F-35 Lightning II has been developed for multirole missions, i.e. it is adept at attacking both air-to-air and air-to-ground. In the opinion of military analysts, when it comes to air superiority, F-22 Raptor still outweighs F-35.

F-22 Raptor is not available in any country other than America

The F-22 is so advanced that the US has banned its export. The US government made a law due to national security reasons and the protection of its sensitive technologies (stealth coating, radar signature, avionics), under which the F-22 cannot be sold to any country. Many countries, including India, had expressed their desire to buy the F-22, but the US rejected it. Even America's close allies are not able to access this aircraft.

 Defense experts believe that the F-35's stealth capability and advanced features in network-centric warfare make it unique. It is also very strong in electronic warfare, intelligence and data sharing. Its price may be high, but technically it is the backbone of America's air power.

What is special about Rafael?

Developed by France's Dassault Aviation, the Rafale is faster than Pakistan's JF-17 (1910 km/h) and China's J-10 CE (2100 km/h). It is equipped with multirole capabilities and is adept at both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Its operational flexibility makes it a game changer for the Indian Air Force.

Russia's dangerous Su-57 fighter jet

Su-57 is Russia's fifth generation stealth fighter jet, which has state-of-the-art technologies. Su-57's N036 Byelka AESA radar and AI assisted system gives it 360° coverage. It can also operate in loyal wingman mode with drones. The most important thing is that its price is around $50 million per jet, which is much more economical than the F-35.
