The standard 14.2-kilogram cooking gas cylinder is still available at the same rate, while the price of the 19-kilogram commercial cylinder remains unchanged. Commercial LPG cylinder prices were raised earlier this month. At that time, state-owned oil marketing companies made a slight increase of ₹9.50 on the 19-kilogram cylinder. However, domestic LPG prices remained unchanged.

The country's state-owned refineries have increased production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) ahead of the upcoming festive season. This is due to both the increased demand for gas cylinders and the disruptions to supply caused by the US-Iran war. Several steps have already been taken to address the supply shortage, including increasing domestic production.

Indian refineries reduced their production from wartime highs during the summer, when supplies from the US, Africa, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) continued to flow through Oman's Sohar port. Production has since picked up again and currently stands at around 44,000 tonnes of LPG per day. Current production levels are about 20% (one-fifth) higher than the daily average in August, ensuring there will be no LPG shortage within the country during the festive season.
