The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has finally released the notification for the MP State Eligibility Test (MP SET) 2025. Thousands of candidates across the state have been eagerly awaiting this exam. The MP SET exam is crucial for those who aspire to become assistant professors in the state's colleges and universities.
Registration Dates and Website
The registration process for MP SET 2025 will begin on October 25, 2025, and candidates can apply until November 20, 2025. Applications will be accepted online only. Interested candidates must apply by visiting the official website of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, mppsc.mp.gov.in. Before applying, candidates are advised to carefully read the official notification posted on the website to avoid any mistakes.
Exam Objective and Language Options
The MP SET exam is conducted for recruitment to Assistant Professor positions within the Higher Education Department. This exam provides qualified candidates with the opportunity to hold professorships in various colleges across the state. The exam will be conducted in two languages: Hindi and English, and candidates can choose their preferred language when applying.
This year, the exam will be conducted for a total of 31 subjects, including arts, science, commerce, social sciences, and technical subjects.
Required Eligibility
Candidates applying for MP SET 2025 must possess a postgraduate degree (e.g., MA, M.Sc, M.Com, etc.) from a recognized university. General, OBC (Creamy Layer), and EWS candidates require a minimum of 55% marks. SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwD candidates are exempted from this requirement with 50% marks. Additionally, candidates who completed their Ph.D. before September 19, 1991, will be granted an additional 5% mark relaxation. PG final-year students can also apply.
Age Limit
There is no age limit for the MP SET 2025 exam. This means that any candidate who meets the educational qualifications can appear for the exam. This rule is especially helpful for those who wish to pursue a career after completing their studies.
Application Fee:
General category candidates will need to pay an application fee of ₹500 (which includes a ₹40 portal fee). However, some fee concessions are available for reserved categories. Fees can be paid online via debit card, credit card, or net banking.
When will the exam be held?
The MP SET 2025 exam will be held on January 11, 2026. The exam will consist of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2, both of which will be objective type (multiple choice questions). Both papers will be held in the same session, meaning there will be no gap in between.
