A shocking incident has emerged from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a maid was so offended by her mistress's slap that she robbed an export merchant's house in retaliation. Moradabad police solved this theft in a posh city colony within 16 hours.

Police arrested a maid named Mamta and recovered the stolen goods from her possession. Moradabad City Superintendent of Police, Kumar Ranvijay Singh, revealed the incident, stating that a theft occurred at an exporter's home on the night of September 18th. Police registered a case and began an investigation, and solved the theft within 16 hours.

Police arrested Mamta, the housekeeper, on charges of theft and recovered stolen diamonds, gold, and silver jewelry, and cash worth ₹40,000. According to police, the arrested woman had been working as a cleaner at the exporter's house for the past three months.
According to the police, when Mamta fell ill, she sent her daughter to work at the exporter's house across the Kothi, where the exporter's wife got angry over some issue and slapped Mamta's daughter, after which the maid Mamta, committed the theft to retaliate.
Police recovered these items from the accused woman.
The entire stolen jewelry and cash have been recovered from Mamta's possession. Police have arrested the accused woman and sent her to jail. The incident occurred in Ram Ganga Vihar Colony, within the Civil Lines police station area. The SP City appealed to residents to ensure police verification before hiring a maid, install CCTV cameras, and remain vigilant to prevent similar incidents.
