Modi government took strict action, banned more than 7 lakh SIM cards, is your number also included?

The government has taken strict action against cyber fraud. As of February 2025, more than 7.8 lakh SIM cards, more than 3,000 Skype IDs and more than 83,000 WhatsApp accounts have been blocked.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bundi Sanjay Kumar has given a written reply in the Lok Sabha. He said that till February 28, more than 7,81,000 SIM cards have been blocked for being involved in cyber fraud.
Apart from this, 2,08,469 IMEI numbers identified by the police and other investigating agencies have also been blocked.
Let us tell you that IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is a unique code of every mobile device, and these blocked devices have been linked to online crime.
I4C (Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre), an agency working under the Home Ministry, has blocked 3,962 Skype IDs and 83,668 WhatsApp accounts which were being used for fraud.

Recently its mobile app has also been launched, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
