LSG vs GT: Nawabs of Lucknow stopped Gujarat's winning chariot, Markram-Pooran gave Supergiants their fourth win

When Gujarat Titans came out against Lucknow Supergiants, they were eyeing their fifth consecutive win but Lucknow did not let that happen. This team, captained by Rishabh Pant, thrashed Gujarat at their home and won their fourth win of the season. Aiden Markram's half-century and Nicholas Pooran's stormy innings played an important role in Lucknow's victory.

Lucknow Supergiants on Sunday stopped Gujarat Titans' winning chariot by defeating them by six wickets in IPL-2025. Gujarat had entered the Ekana Stadium after winning four consecutive matches, where the host team ruined all their hard work. Once again Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran played an important role in Lucknow's victory.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans scored 180 runs for the loss of six wickets. Lucknow achieved this target in 19.3 overs. This is Lucknow's fourth win of this season. At the same time, Gujarat's second defeat of the season.

Pant fails

Lucknow's star opener Mitchell Marsh was not playing in this match. In his place, captain Pant took over the responsibility of opening with Markram. However, Pant could not play a big innings even after the change in place. On the second ball of the seventh over, Prasidh Krishna got him caught by Washington Sundar. Badoni did wonders

After the departure of Markram and Pooran, the responsibility of winning the team was on Ayush Badoni and he did this job very well. He stood till the end and returned only after winning the team. David Miller was also supporting him. On the fourth ball of the 19th over, Sundar dismissed Miller and tried to bring excitement to the match. Miller scored seven runs. Six runs were needed to win in the last over. Abdul Samad took one run on the first ball. Badoni hit a four on the second ball and a six on the third ball to give the team victory. Badoni scored an unbeaten 28 runs.

Sai-Gill's wonder

Gujarat was looking to cross 200 runs easily at one time. Captain Gill and Sudarshan had laid the foundation for a big score. Both of them together shared a 120-run partnership for the first wicket. This is Gujarat's biggest partnership for the first wicket this season. On the first ball of the 13th over, Avesh Khan ended Gill's innings and broke this partnership. Gill scored 60 runs in 38 balls with the help of six fours and a six.

Sai also returned to the pavilion in the next over. Ravi Bishnoi got him caught by Puran. This left-handed batsman played an innings of 56 runs in 37 balls with the help of seven fours and a six.

Run rate stopped

After the departure of both the openers, Gujarat's run rate stopped and the team could not even reach close to 200. Jos Buttler got out after scoring 16, Washington Sundar two, Sherfane Rutherford 22 runs. At one time Gujarat's score was 120 runs without any wicket in 12 overs.
