Deepika Chikhalia told that the Ramayan serial was shot in Umargaon near Maharashtra. This village was far away from the homes of the star cast and crew of the serial, so they did not get the opportunity to go home again and again. All the actors lived together in this village. Deepika told that the shooting of Ramayana lasted for about 4 years and during this time she got only 3-4 holidays. The situation was that she could not celebrate Diwali at her home during this period. The shooting schedule was so busy that it was difficult to go home, so everyone used to celebrate Diwali with diyas on the set itself.
Diwali sequence was shot for Ramayana
Deepika Chikhalia also told in the interview how the Diwali sequence was shot in the Ramayana serial. She said that this sequence was shot in about 7 days, in which all the actors and crew together lit diyas by taking the name of Ram. Deepika told that to shoot this Diwali sequence, the set of Ayodhya was prepared in Umargaon and every day it was decorated according to Diwali.
