WhatsApp is planning to bring a new feature for Android users. With its help, you can transfer your data from one Android device to another without Google Drive chat backup.
WhatsApp has thousands of users in India, to whom it keeps bringing new updates to give the best experience. This time also the company is planning to bring one such feature. Let's know about it.
WhatsApp has introduced many new features last year. New features and security updates from the company made the platform more secure. But in 2023 the platform is planning to bring some useful and much-needed features. One of these features is also the chat transfer facility.
Chat transfer feature
Last year, Mate's messaging platform introduced a new feature that allows users to migrate their chat history from Android to iOS. It was named Move to iOS. A new report has revealed that WhatsApp is now developing a new chat transfer feature that will allow its users to move chat history to a new Android device. It is being told that this feature is still under development and it can be rolled out in future updates of the app.
How will the feature work?
Currently, WhatsApp gives Android users the option to save chat history backups to Google Drive. Whenever a user switches to a new Android smartphone, they need to log in to their Google account and then recover chat backup to get back all their WhatsApp chat history, images, videos, and other data.
When this feature is launched, WhatsApp users will be able to transfer their app data from one smartphone to another by going to Settings> Chats> Chat transfer to Android. This way users will get a dedicated and hassle-free migration option without Google Drive backup.
