In Apple's iPhone 14, the company has only given the option of e-SIM. However, the E-SIM model will be sold only in the US for now. Well, if seen, the concept of E-SIM is not new, but it was not being used on a large scale. At the same time, most of the people in India are still not well aware of E-SIM.
What is E-sim
E-SIM stands for Embedded Subscriber Identity Module. E-SIM can be used not only on mobile phones but also on tablets and smartwatches. This sim is quite different from the physical sim. There is no need to insert the e-SIM into the phone. It is activated over the air through the telecom company. Once activated, you can use it easily. The features that are available in the normal SIM card, you also get those features in the E-SIM.
In which phones e-SIM is active
You get the option of e-SIM only on selected smartphones. Jio e-SIM is supported by your iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series and other iPhones. E-SIM works on the operating system above iOS 12.1.
How to activate
Jio users need to SMS the EID number and IMEI number along with GETESIM to 199. After this, you will get 19 digit number. After this, you have to SMS e-SIM with SIMCHG to 199. After this, you have to configure your profile and select the data plan. After this, your number will become active.
