Vat Savitri Purnima 2023 Date: According to the Hindu calendar, Vat Savitri fast is observed twice a year. The first is on Jyestha Amavasya and the second is on Jyestha Purnima. Women circumambulate the banyan tree on this day and tie kalava around it. It is said that this fulfills the long life of the husband and the wish of having a child.

On this day, married women should not wear black or blue clothes, it is believed in the scriptures that wearing clothes of these colors does not give the full result of worship.
Do not break a banyan branch to worship at home. If you break its branch on this day, problems may arise in your life. It would be better if you worship where the tree is planted.
Do circumambulation of the banyan tree clockwise and do not touch anyone else with your feet while circumambulating.
Avoid fighting with your spouse on this day and seek the blessings of elders.
Stay away from a vindictive diet on this day.
