Where and how much money can you exchange?
If you still have Rs 2,000 notes, you can go to your nearest bank and get them exchanged. For this, it is not necessary that you have to go to the same bank where you have an account, rather you can go to any nearby bank and get these Rs 2,000 notes exchanged.

According to RBI rules, you will be able to change only a maximum amount of Rs 20 thousand at a time. A separate counter was arranged for this in the bank, where you can easily get the notes exchanged.

What will happen after October 7?
The Reserve Bank said in its statement that the last date for exchanging the Rs 2,000 note is October 7, 2023. Even after this, if someone is left with a Rs 2,000 note, it will remain just a piece of paper. However, it was also said by RBI that even after October 7, these notes can be exchanged but not in banks. Rather, for this, you will have to visit 19 regional offices of RBI.
