Do you often have pain in your joints? Do your knees and ankles sting while walking? Many times this pricking becomes unbearable. Later, after testing, it is found that your uric acid has increased. There is already purine in our body and then due to food habits, its level increases. Purines are removed through urine, but when the kidneys do not function properly, purines are not removed from the body. It gradually starts accumulating in the bones and due to an increase in uric acid, you start facing many problems.

If your uric acid level has already increased, then you are advised to correct your lifestyle. To control it, it is important to first see what you are eating that is increasing its levels. To reduce uric acid, it is very important to know its triggers first.

Lifestyle coach and nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee tells about this through a social media post. She says that you can manage uric acid better by knowing its triggers. We all like to eat our favourite food, but do you know that some things cause an increase in uric acid?

The body breaks down the purines found in our body and removes them through urine. Normally uric acid dissolves with the body and is excreted along with the toxin in urine through the kidneys. When this process does not happen properly, purines accumulate in our joints and cause pain.

Uric acid can increase with aging

Nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee says that as your age increases, especially after menopause, your uric acid increases. When the blood sugar in your body starts becoming uncontrolled, then this problem can become more serious. However, sometimes uric acid can increase even without menopause. Consumption of alcohol, honey, maple syrup fruit juices, etc., which contain high levels of purines or fructose, increases your uric acid levels. 50 per cent uric acid is already produced in our body and 50 percent comes from food and drink. Due to its increase, your fat storage also starts increasing, so you need to prevent its triggers from increasing.

Uric acid increases due to alcohol consumption

You consume alcohol while having fun at a party with friends, but it is harmful to you. Alcohol increases the level of uric acid in the body. This can increase the amount of purines, which increases uric acid. Beer has high purine levels and if you drink even two pints or cans of beer a day, it can more than double your risk of developing gout or arthritis.

Uric acid can increase due to fruit juice

Thinking that juice is good for health, we keep drinking juice throughout the day. Let us tell you that it contains fructose, which is harmful to health. When your body breaks down fructose, purines are released. Uric acid is produced by the breakdown of this chemical compound. Due to this, crystals start accumulating in the joints and if the problem increases, it can take the form of arthritis. Fructose can produce uric acid within minutes of consumption.

Do these measures to prevent uric acid-

Anjali Mukherjee says in her next post that there are many ways by which you can prevent this problem from increasing. Know here how this problem can be avoided through food and drink-

Follow a vegetarian diet for 3 months

If you are non-vegetarian, Anjali Mukherjee suggests that you follow a vegetarian diet for the first 3 months. A vegetable diet can bring down uric acid levels. As much as possible, include good and healthy vegetables in your diet. Many people do not eat vegetables even after being vegetarian. Eat more vegetables like ridge gourd, gourd, tinda, parwal etc.

Do this work in the morning on an empty stomach

You must have received much advice about what to drink and eat on an empty stomach in the morning. Nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee says that you should consume half a teaspoon of baking soda after waking up in the morning. He said in his post, "Consume it every morning on an empty stomach for five days. After this, wait for 3-4 days and take it again for 5 days. Follow this practice for the whole month. This will reduce your uric acid level."

Drink celery juice

Celery contains many antioxidants like vitamin C, beta carotene, polysaccharides, apigenin and flavonoids. This is a good option for the kidneys, which helps in removing toxins. You should drink its juice for a month. Along with controlling blood sugar levels, it can also reduce uric acid levels.

Apart from this, you should include good and nutritious dry fruits like almonds, walnuts, cashews, raisins Brazil nuts etc. in your diet. Taking these in moderation will also reduce your uric acid level and will provide other benefits to the body.
