As soon as the winter season arrives, cracked heels trouble us. However, this problem always persists with some people. Cracked heels can be caused by carelessness in skin care, lack of nutrition in the diet, diabetes, weather problems, some major health problems or reactions to any beauty treatment. If they are torn just a little, they will cause pain, but if the problem is severe, it can also happen that they get infected or they start bleeding.

In such cases, you should go to the doctor and get them treated. If the problem is minor, then it is important to take some measures for cracked heels in the beginning.

We also asked beauty and hair expert Shahnaz Hussain about making the right kind of scrub for cracked heels. She also gave us information on some DIY foot scrubs.

Dead cells are also the reason for cracked heels. The slow formation of new cells and accumulation of old skin will not be good for you. Due to this dead skin, big cracks start appearing in the heels.

It is very important to remove dead cells from heels

Our skin always needs exfoliation. You must exfoliate every part of your skin properly. Just as scrubbing is done after dead skin appears on the face, similarly try to remove the dead skin from the feet regularly. Even if you are not able to go out for a pedicure, try making a home pedicure or foot scrub.

DIY Foot Scrub

You have to scrub your hands and feet with three tablespoons of sugar and two teaspoons of mustard oil. After scrubbing, leave it for 10 minutes and then clean it with water.

To exfoliate the skin of the feet properly, take dry orange and lemon peel powder, oatmeal powder, almond powder and a little olive oil and rose water in your hands and feet and scrub the feet in a circular motion. After scrubbing, leave this paste on the feet for some time and then wash it.

For scrub, you can make a foot scrub by mixing rice flour, curd and a pinch of turmeric. After this, scrub your feet in circular movements and later wash them with water.

You have to remember one thing all these scrubs will be useful for you only when the problem is very less and there is no problem with the feet. If you feel that your heels are cracked or the pain is severe, then these methods may increase your problem. At that time, you will have to first take medical advice and only then adopt these remedies.

Always keep your heels moisturized

After the foot scrub, you need to moisturize your feet, especially your heels. If you do not moisturize your feet properly, after scrubbing, the skin will feel even drier and due to this, you will feel the problem increasing.

Before applying any kind of moisturizer, wash your heels with lukewarm water and then apply the moisturizer that suits you.

DIY Foot Pack

A good foot pack for heels can be made from things available at home.

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp aloe vera gel
  • A little asafoetida powder
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil

Mix all these things apply them on your feet and wrap them in polythene. Leave it on your feet for at least 2-3 hours and then wash your cracked heels with lukewarm water and apply moisturizer properly. You can do this remedy once or twice a week.

You have to take care of your feet continuously because the accumulation of dead skin can again affect the health of your feet.
