Meta launched Threads a year ago as a direct micro-blogging rival to Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter). As the platform continues to grow, Meta is planning to add new features to it. The social media giant is now working on a new feature allowing users to post Instagram Reels directly to Threads. This new feature may be part of Meta's plan to enable cross-posting features, making it easier to share content between its various apps.

The cross-posting feature may come to Threads soon.
Well-known developer Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) has claimed that Threads is testing a new feature allowing users to share Instagram Reels and posts directly to Threads. According to the screenshot shared by Paluzzi, a new Instagram option has been added to the drop-down menu in Threads, which will appear alongside the already existing GIF, Voice, and Poll options. Tapping on the new Instagram button in the compose box of Threads will show a grid showing Instagram posts and reels. From there, users can choose which reels and posts they want to share on Threads.

Currently, many users share their Instagram posts and reels on Threads to get more engagement on their content and increase their followers. The arrival of this new button is expected to help users get even more engagement and increase content visibility.
