Do jungle safari

If you are holidaying in Wayanad, then your vacation cannot be complete without a wildlife jungle safari. You can enjoy a safari in Wayanad Sanctuary. This sanctuary is located in northern Kerala. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for the largest population of tigers and Asian elephants in the world.

While on safari in the sanctuary, you can enjoy spotting animals like tigers, elephants, wild dogs, sambar deer, leopards, Indian pangolins and many more.

Enjoy boating

The highest-altitude freshwater lake in Kerala, Pookode Lake is located in the Wayanad district. If you are in Wayanad then you must take a boat ride on this lake once. The peace of this place will bring a feeling of peace to your mind.

You can also get a close look at the flowers in the lake while taking a boat ride. Also, sometimes while boating you can catch a glimpse of a fish called Pethiapukodensis, which is found only here.

Go trekking

If you are one of those people who like to do some adventures, then you can also do trekking in Wayanad. You can plan for trekking to Chembra Peak. The trail starts with tea plantations and after an hour of climbing, you will see a beautiful pond in the lush green meadows.

However, do note that you need to reach the start point of trailing before 2 pm with a permit from the forest department. Also, remember to carry your water bottles as plastic is banned upstairs.

Do bamboo rafting

Spread across 950 acres of land, Kuruva Island comprises three beautiful islands in the middle of the Kabini River in Wayanad. Popular for Bamboo rafting, it is one of the best things to do in Wayanad. This island provides you with a panoramic view of bamboo bridges. Also, here you can get a chance to see rare species of trees and watch birds.

Go ziplining

If you are planning to do some adventure activities in Wayanad, then ziplining in the rolling tea gardens is a good experience. It is also the longest and highest zipline in Wayanad. While ziplining, you can see very beautiful views.
