If you are told that a dog has made the supreme sacrifice while serving the country, then perhaps there will be tears in your eyes. Actually, on Monday, Phantom Dog made the supreme sacrifice in an operation against terrorists in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir. When our army personnel were approaching the terrorists, Phantom was facing enemy firing in which he was seriously injured and after this, he was martyred. The army paid tribute to this martyr Phantom, but do you know how these Phantom dogs are prepared? How is their training and when were they included in the army? Probably not, so let's know about this...

First, know this
The martyr Phantom Dog was a part of the special para forces. He was martyred while chasing and locating the terrorists (where the terrorists are hiding). The Indian Army has paid tribute to its martyred Phantom and also acknowledged his extraordinary bravery and dedication.

Some information about Phantom Dog
The martyred Phantom Dog was of Belgian Malinois breed who was born on 25 May 2020. This dog was inducted into the Indian Army on 12 August 2022. This dog was part of the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army.

How is the training?
The training of Phantom Dog, who was martyred while searching for terrorists in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, is very difficult and challenging. The army trains these dogs in its dog training faculties set up in different parts of the country.

These dogs are trained in special tactical operations like searching in the jungle, and sanitization in an area. Not only this, they are also fully trained in many other special abilities. The dogs who join the army have three months of basic training in which they are given commands. This training goes on for three to four hours daily. However, to go on a special mission, the dog is trained for two hours each in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. In this training, the dog is taught how to walk, what to do in case of an attack, and how to sit and obey the trainer's orders.

The training video shows that these dogs reach their target by sniffing and then attacking it. The grip of these dogs' teeth is so strong that it is not only difficult but impossible to escape from it.

Which dogs are included in the Indian Army?
All the dogs included in the Indian Army are Belgian Shepherds and Assault Barbarian. These dogs are recruited in the Indian Army at the age of two and then they are retired at the age of 10. After retirement, these dogs are sent to the old age home in Meerut here they are adopted by an army officer.
