Who has the right to issue challan?
It might have happened to you that you were stopped by a constable rank soldier, but you should know that the constable can stop your vehicle. But the constable does not have the right to issue challan.

Only a police officer of the rank of head constable or above can issue your challan. At the same time, the head constable can also issue a challan of only Rs 100 for your vehicle. According to the rules, the police cannot challan your vehicle, because only the traffic policeman has the authority to do so.

Know your rights also:-
If you are suspicious of a policeman, you can ask him to show his ID card.
Only traffic police can challan your vehicle
If there is no mistake then show the vehicle papers without any fear.
You can show the vehicle papers in hard copy or digital form
Be sure to take receipt of challan being issued or vehicle being seized.
If any traffic policeman is harassing you, you can complain about him at the police station.
