In most places of our country, some or the other food item is famous. If we talk about Hyderabad, the city of Nawabs, then apricot sweet is the most famous sweet dish there. When special guests from India and abroad are invited for dinner, there is a trend to serve mostly apricot sweets to them. Well, you do not need to go to Hyderabad to eat it. It is quite easy to prepare, so it can be made even at home. That means no matter which corner of the country you live in, you will get the taste of it sitting at home. You can increase or decrease the sweetness according to your taste.
Ingredients
Dried apricots – 500 grams (soaked)
Apricot seeds – a few
Sugar – 3/4 cup or as per taste
Fresh cream – 1/4 cup
Recipe
- Crack the seeds of apricot and blanch the kernel inside.
During this time, drain the soaked apricots and keep the water aside. Heat a deep non-stick pan.
- Add soaked apricots, water, and sugar in this pan. Mix well and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
Cook the apricots for a few more minutes while pressing them lightly so that they become lightly mashed.
- Separate a small portion and refrigerate. Make it puree.
- Add the puree to the apricots lying in the pan, mix, and cook until the mixture thickens.
- Pour into four glasses and add cream on top. Sprinkle with apricot kernels and serve at room temperature or chilled.
