Why do women need more sleep than men?
- There are many reasons why women need more sleep than men. Women are 40 per cent more likely to suffer from insomnia than men. At the same time, people suffering from insomnia have difficulty sleeping, due to which they have problems falling asleep during sleep.
- Apart from this, hormonal changes also cause difficulty in sleeping. Due to fluctuations in hormones like estrogen and progesterone during the menstrual cycle, cramps can disrupt sleep patterns. At the same time, many other problems including hot flashes occur during menopause. Due to this also the sleeping pattern gets disturbed.
- Women are multitaskers. Compared to men, women also take care of children at home and office. Women give priority to their responsibilities more than their health. Due to this, they become mentally and emotionally weak.
What to do to get good sleep?
- Fixing a sleeping timetable, sleeping and waking up at the same time every day improves the quality of sleep.
- Sleep in a comfortable place, this also helps in better sleep.
- Do not consume caffeine at all at night, this can also cause hindrance in sleep.
- Stay away from screens 2 hours before sleeping.
